SERIES: Brooklyn Bruisers #1
PUBLICATION: September 6th 2016 by Berkley
MY RATING: 5 STARS
The first novel in a sexy new series featuring the hockey players of the Brooklyn Bruisers and the women who win their hearts—from the USA Today bestselling author of the Ivy Years series.
In high school they were the perfect couple—until the day Georgia left Leo in the cold...
Hockey player Leo Trevi has spent the last six years trying to do two things: get over the girl who broke his heart, and succeed in the NHL. But on the first day he’s called up to the newly franchised Brooklyn Bruisers, Leo gets checked on both sides, first by the team’s coach—who has a long simmering grudge, and then by the Bruisers’ sexy, icy publicist—his former girlfriend Georgia Worthington.
Saying goodbye to Leo was one of the hardest things Georgia ever had to do—and saying hello again isn’t much easier. Georgia is determined to keep their relationship strictly professional, but when a press conference microphone catches Leo declaring his feelings for her, things get really personal, really fast....

Sarina Bowen... what can I say about this author? She's amazing! She never disappoints me, I loved ALL of her books and she can surpise me with each one. Her writing is intese, sweet, passionate, and has always the right balance between romance and drama. The characters always so good, appealing but not too perfect, the dialogs always engaging, that make them more real.
Rookie Move is no exception, it's perfect. It has everything I love in a book.
This is the first book in the Brooklyn Bruisers series, and fans of The Ivy series you can't miss to read it! Leo Trevi is back!
Why you will fall in love with Leo Trevi?
Because he's sweet, gorgeous and modest. That doesn't make him perfect.
I loved his sweetness with Georgia, how he is always understanding and loyal. His love for Georgia is so deep that could stand the test of time.
Gorgeous? Of course he is! A hot and sexy hockey player.
But I liked him more for his modesty. He knows, he is well aware to be a hell of a player, but having the chance to play in the NHL is something that he doesn't take for granted. His focus is not to be a celebrity, he's focused on the play and to become an even better player. I liked the respect he has for all his teammates, he doesn't like everyone, but he has a very mature attidute: everyone has something to teach him, and he's always ready to accept the good and the bad.
Sometimes he's impulsive, defensive, scared to be hurt. Georgia's rejection has left some scars, she was, and always be, the love of his life. Letting go of her was the hardest thing he has ever done. Now he has a second chance and Leo is determined to not waste it.
Why you will fall in love with Georgia Worthington?
Because she's smart, sexy and sweet, but she's not perfect. At some point I couldn't understand and agree with her choises.
Georgia is a teenager, a tennis player, but after being raped during last high school year, her life changed forever. Leo, the love of her life, her soulmate, seems so accepting about the situation but she always had the feeling that nothing will never be the same. Rather than be rejected by him she is the one who recjects Leo. Why Georgia? He was so sweet and caring, were you crazy? Only a crazy girl will dump such a good boy!
And Leo accepts, in some way, to let her go. At the beginning I thought Leo was weak as he didin't fight so much for their love. But when they met again after six years and their relationship has a second chance, I understand why both acted that way, and I fall in love with them even more.
In this story Georgia and Leo are surrounded by great second characters. Georgia's father and the Buisers' coach; Becca, Georgia's best friend and coworker (I liked her so much!); the misterious team's owner, Mr. Kattenberger (I'd love to see something happening in the future between him and Becca); O'Doul the team's captain (interesting man...) and then Silas, the backup goalie. I think there are really interesting material for the future books of this series.
If you love second chance and sport romances this book is a MUST READ.
